Garden Maternity Session

At the end of last month I traveled to a town just outside of Toronto called Cambridge for The Curated Motherhood Retreat. It was a sprawling estate with multiple dwellings and so much history. I knew with Karyn Louise Photography and Megan Laura Photography curating the sessions and retreat I wouldn’t be disappointed. These girls have a gift for storytelling and I was truly taken aback by the entire experience. I will be blogging all three of the storytelling sessions I took part in, but for now we will start with the maternity session in the garden. The session moved so seamlessly as the model transitioned from the stable house, through the woods, to end in the green house and garden all while carefully curated music played to set the mood. Shooting the majority of these sessions on film was a main focus of mine to allow me to be fully present and intentional with the moments I chose to preserve. This session was shot with Kodak Portra 400 film and developed and scanned by Rewind Film Lab. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did capturing it.
